The church was originally built for the Franciscan Order, between
1731 and 1757, in the Baroque style. In 1785 the church and the
monastery were given as a gift to the Healing Order of Nuns by
Emperor Joseph II. The cloister/monastery, which stands next to the
church, was later converted into a hospital and, at the end of the
19th century, a Baroque style side-wing was added.
