The offers were made by the 250 Lutheran families and other
residents of the village belonging to other denomination. The church
was designed by Gyula Sándy, who designed most of the Lutheran
churches especially round Pest in the XX-th century. This church was
his 28-th design, laying of the foundation stone of which was in
1938.
The church was complete and then dedicated by the bishop Sándor
Raffay. It was saved in the World War II. The collection for the
churchbell started in 1947 and it was dedicated by the bishop Lajos
Ordass and the rural dean Pál Zászkaliczky in the same year. In 1950
Rákoshegy, Rákoscsaba and Rákosliget became one administrative unit.
The independent affiliated churches were terminated and became part
of the Rákoskeresztúr parish.

The church is situated in a nice park and made from raw bricks with
rustic masonry along the socle. Material of buttresses and
entablature is ferroconcrete. The tower having many windows is over
the middle line of the gate, the designer applied turret decoration
at the four corners of the tower, which is characteristic of the
Székely (Magyar of Eastern Transylvania) churches, the designer
wanted to emphasize this way the characteristically Hungarian effect.
The rectangle ground-plan has got semicircle spaces with separate
supports of the roof at the facade on the both sides. The side walls
are dismembered by buttresses. The interior was renovated in 1994.
On the altar there is a big wooden cross situated. The breast wall
of the glazed organ-loft is decorated with a brass Luther rose.
